FAQs
Are these shoes waterproof?
The Salomon XT-6 is designed for breathability and comfort; while they handle damp conditions well, they are not classified as fully waterproof.
Is this a unisex model?
Yes, this specific version of the XT-6 is designed as a unisex trainer suitable for both men and women.
How do I determine if size 6 is right for me?
The UK size 6 is designed for a standard fit. We recommend measuring your foot while standing and comparing it to our standard sizing chart.
Can these be used for heavy-duty hiking?
While the XT-6 offers excellent traction and stability for light trails, it is primarily categorized as an urban performance and light outdoor trainer.
How should I clean the blue and grey mesh?
Use a mild soap solution and a soft cloth to gently wipe the mesh. Avoid machine washing or using harsh chemical cleaners.
Are these suitable for gym use?
Yes, the stable chassis makes them suitable for weightlifting and general gym activities where a stable platform is required.
Troubleshooting
Feeling too tight or stiff initially
The XT-6 has a technical build; wear them for shorter intervals over the first week to allow the materials to conform to your foot shape.
Laces feel loose or difficult to tighten
Ensure the lace-locking mechanism is fully engaged and check the eyelets for any trapped debris that might prevent smooth movement.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Durable construction materials for long-term wear
- Excellent stability and support for foot health
- Versatile design suitable for both technical and casual use
- Reliable traction on multiple surface types
Cons
- Requires a break-in period for maximum comfort
- Limited to specific sizing availability
- Technical design may be overkill for purely sedentary office environments
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Salomon XT-6 trainers, consider these maintenance practices:
- Fitting: Ensure you are using the correct UK size 6 for the optimal support the internal chassis provides.
- Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dried mud or dirt from the outsole and synthetic upper after use.
- Moisture Control: If the shoes get wet, air-dry them naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators to prevent the materials from warping or degrading.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry area when not in use to maintain the integrity of the specialized performance foams.
