Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing for Fit: Ensure you lace the boots securely from bottom to top. The lace-up design allows for personalized tightness. Start by making sure the laces are even, then pull firmly but comfortably, working your way up to the top eyelets. Double-knot for security during play.
- Break-in Period: Like all high-performance boots, a short break-in period may be beneficial to allow the materials to conform to your foot shape. Wear them for light training sessions before competitive matches.
Compatibility
These Nike Mercurial Superfly 10 Elite boots are specifically designed for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This means they are engineered to perform best on natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or otherwise soft. Using them on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor courts can lead to premature stud wear, reduced performance, and potential injury.
Care
Proper care extends the life and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after playing, especially on soft ground, remove as much mud and debris as possible. Use a soft brush or a blunt object to gently scrape off mud from the upper and soleplate.
- Washing: Use lukewarm water and a mild soap (like dish soap) with a soft cloth or sponge to wipe down the synthetic upper. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Drying: Never machine wash or tumble dry. Air dry your boots in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store boots in a breathable bag (not airtight) or in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
