Product Information

Full details

The Sealskinz Acle Waterproof Gloves are designed for active women who need reliable hand protection during everyday outdoor activities like morning walks and chilly hikes. These lightweight, fleece-lined gloves offer a perfect balance of thermal warmth and breathability, utilizing a specialized Aquasealz membrane to keep hands dry in rain or sleet. While they provide excellent dexterity and touch-screen compatibility, users should note that they run small and it is recommended to purchase one size larger than your standard measurement for an optimal fit.

FAQs

Are these gloves machine washable?

No, they should be hand washed at 30ºC to protect the waterproof membrane.

How should I dry them after a wet hike?

Drip dry them naturally in a well-ventilated space away from direct heat sources like radiators.

Can I use these for heavy winter mountaineering?

These are designed for everyday wear, light hikes, and walks. They may not provide enough insulation for extreme arctic temperatures.

Why is it suggested to buy one size larger?

The internal membrane and fleece lining take up space, which can make the gloves feel tighter than standard non-waterproof gloves.

Do these gloves work with all touchscreens?

The S-grip material is designed to be compatible with most standard capacitive touchscreens found on modern smartphones and tablets.

Troubleshooting

Touchscreen sensitivity is inconsistent

Ensure the S-grip patterned area on the fingertips is making firm contact with the screen and that your device screen is clean and free of moisture.

Gloves feel too tight across the knuckles

This indicates you may need a larger size. If you have already sized up, try wearing them for short periods to allow the fleece lining to compress slightly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Fully waterproof protection against rain, snow, and sleet
Highly dexterous for daily tasks and outdoor hobbies
Touchscreen-compatible palms for use with smartphones
Breathable material prevents overheating

Cons

Sizing runs small; requires careful selection
Not intended for extreme sub-zero mountaineering conditions
Must be hand-washed to maintain membrane integrity

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the best experience, verify your sizing carefully as these gloves are known to have a snug fit—it is strongly recommended to size up. For cleaning, these gloves are not suitable for machine washing or tumble drying, as high heat can damage the waterproof membrane. Instead, hand wash them in cool water (30ºC) using a gentle detergent. Always allow the gloves to drip dry naturally in a well-ventilated area, keeping them away from radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight to preserve the technical materials.
