Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Upon receiving your Dr. Martens Reeder shoes, thread the hiker-style laces through all eyelets. Ensure a snug but comfortable fit, tying a secure knot.
- First Wear: It's recommended to wear new leather shoes for shorter periods initially to allow the material to conform to your foot's shape, gradually increasing wear time.
Compatibility
- Unisex Design: These shoes are suitable for all genders, offering a versatile style.
- Sizing: Available in various UK adult sizes. Refer to a Dr. Martens sizing guide if you are unsure about your specific size.
- Style: The utility design and Crazy Horse leather make these shoes a versatile addition to casual and rugged wardrobes.
Care
The Crazy Horse leather is designed to look worn, but proper care will maintain its quality and prolong the life of your shoes.
- Cleaning: Wipe down shoes regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For more stubborn marks, use a specialized leather cleaner.
- Conditioning: Apply a quality leather conditioner specifically designed for Crazy Horse or similar distressed leathers every few months. This will nourish the leather, prevent drying and cracking, and help maintain its unique texture.
- Water Protection: While durable, leather is not entirely waterproof. Consider using a waterproofing spray designed for leather to add an extra layer of protection against rain and moisture.
- Drying: If your shoes get wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources, to prevent cracking or warping of the leather.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
