FAQs

Can I flip this mattress?

This mattress is designed with a specific top surface (Ortho Bubble), so it is intended to be rotated rather than flipped.

Does this mattress work with adjustable bed frames?

Pocket spring mattresses are generally designed for flat bases. Consult your bed frame manufacturer before use.

What is the total height of the mattress?

The mattress measures 23cm in depth.

How long does it take for the mattress to fully expand?

If delivered vacuum-packed, allow 24-48 hours for the mattress to return to its full shape and for the materials to settle.

Is this mattress suitable for side sleepers?

Yes, the 1000 pocket springs provide enough contouring to support pressure points for most side sleepers.

Is the material hypoallergenic?

The Ortho Bubble fabric is designed for comfort, but if you have specific allergies, we recommend using an allergen-proof mattress protector.

Troubleshooting

Mattress feels firmer than expected

New mattresses often have a break-in period of 2-4 weeks. Allow the internal materials time to soften and adjust to your body heat.

Visible indentations in the sleeping area

Body impressions are normal as the upholstery settles. Rotate the mattress regularly to distribute wear more evenly.

Slight new product odor

This is normal for new textiles. Ensure the room is well-ventilated for the first few days to allow any trapped air to dissipate.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent motion isolation for undisturbed sleep
  • High-grade steel springs provide consistent support
  • Tufted design ensures long-term structural stability
  • Moisture-wicking fabric helps keep the surface cool
  • Proudly made in the UK with quality materials

Cons

  • Not suitable for those preferring a very soft sink-in feel
  • Tufted surface may feel slightly uneven to sensitive sleepers
  • Medium-firm firmness level is subjective to individual preference

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Upon arrival, ensure the mattress is placed on a compatible base, such as a slatted bed frame or a platform bed, to provide optimal support for the spring system. Avoid using it on uneven surfaces which could compromise the pocket springs.

To maximize the lifespan of your mattress:

  1. Rotation: Rotate the mattress head-to-foot every 3 months to promote even settlement of the comfort layers.
  2. Avoid Jumping: Direct impact can damage the internal spring structure.
  3. Cleaning: Use a mattress protector to prevent staining and dust buildup. If spot cleaning is required, use a mild, diluted detergent and a damp cloth, allowing the surface to air dry completely before replacing bedding.
