Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Fit & Setup
Wearing the ASICS Gel-Excite 11 is straightforward. Ensure you select the correct size (e.g., UK 7.5 for this variant) by trying them on and checking for a comfortable, snug fit without any pinching or excessive movement. There should be a thumb's width space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Lace them securely but not overly tight to allow for natural foot movement.
Compatibility
- Foot Type: Ideal for neutral pronators. If you have significant overpronation (foot rolls inward excessively) or underpronation (foot rolls outward excessively), you may benefit more from shoes designed with specific stability or cushioning features for those foot types.
- Activity: Best suited for daily road running, light trail running, walking, and general leisure wear. Not recommended for highly technical trails, aggressive track workouts, or sports requiring rapid lateral movements.
- Surfaces: Performs well on asphalt, paved paths, sidewalks, and well-maintained park trails.
Care and Maintenance
Proper care extends the life and performance of your Gel-Excite 11 shoes:
- Cleaning: Remove loose dirt with a soft brush (like an old toothbrush). For stubborn marks, use a small amount of mild soap (e.g., dish soap) mixed with cool water and gently scrub with a cloth or soft brush. Rinse with a damp cloth.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or machine dryers, as excessive heat can damage materials and adhesives.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove the insoles and allow them to air out. You can also sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes overnight to absorb odors.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating between two pairs of running shoes. This allows the cushioning to fully decompress and recover between uses, extending the lifespan of both pairs.
