FAQs

Is the jacket fully waterproof?

It features an 8000 MM water column rating, which makes it highly water-resistant and suitable for rain and wind, though not designed for extreme downpours or submersion.

What does E.dye mean?

E.dye is an innovative system that saturates the yarn with color before it is woven into fabric, reducing the environmental impact by consuming less water compared to traditional dyeing.

Does this jacket have an inner lining?

No, the jacket is designed as an unlined, lightweight piece to maximize flexibility and layering potential.

How should I clean the Stone Island badge?

It is recommended to remove the badge before washing the garment to prevent wear and tear to the embroidery.

Is the jacket suitable for winter?

It is not a heavy winter coat. It works best as an outer layer in mild, transitional climates; for winter, we suggest layering it over insulating knitwear.

The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish may need reactivating. Clean the garment and follow with a technical DWR spray treatment.

Zippers feel stiff or stuck

Clean the tracks with a soft brush and use a specialized zipper lubricant to restore smooth movement.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Soft Shell-R jacket, follow these care instructions:

Cleaning: Use a gentle, cold machine wash cycle. Avoid harsh detergents or fabric softeners, as these can strip the technical membrane of its water-resistant properties.
Drying: Air dry the garment away from direct heat sources. Avoid tumble drying, as excessive heat may damage the lamination.
Maintenance: Periodically check the zippers for debris to ensure smooth operation of the double-slider mechanism.
Storage: Store on a wide-shouldered hanger to maintain the shape of the hood and shoulders when not in use.
