FAQs
What type of runner is the HOKA Mach 6 best suited for?
The Mach 6 is ideal for runners looking for a lightweight, responsive shoe for everyday training, tempo runs, and even racing. It suits those who appreciate a lively feel and enhanced energy return.
How does the Mach 6 compare to previous Mach models?
The Mach 6 is the lightest and most responsive iteration to date, featuring a new supercritical foam midsole for increased energy return and updated outsole rubber for enhanced durability.
Is the Mach 6 suitable for long distances like marathons?
Yes, its lightweight construction and responsive cushioning make it a viable option for long runs and marathons, especially for runners who prefer a faster, more energetic feel.
How should I clean my Mach 6 trainers?
Wipe them down with a damp cloth and mild soap. Allow them to air dry completely away from direct heat. Avoid machine washing.
What is the primary benefit of the new upper material?
The new creel jacquard upper provides zonal breathability and a secure, foot-hugging comfort essential for performance.
Can I use these shoes for trail running?
The Mach 6 is primarily designed for road running. While they might handle very light, well-groomed gravel, they are not intended for technical trails due to their outsole design and cushioning.
What does 'supercritical foam' mean for the shoe's performance?
Supercritical foam is processed under extreme pressure and temperature, resulting in a lighter, more resilient foam that provides superior cushioning and energy return.
Troubleshooting
Laces come undone frequently
Try using a double knot or consider replacing the laces with a pair that has better grip.
Slight discomfort on initial runs
This is normal for new shoes. Ensure the fit is correct (not too tight or loose) and the shoes will break in after a few runs.
Reduced responsiveness over time
This can be a sign of significant mileage. The foam may have compressed. Ensure the shoes are clean and dry; if the issue persists after cleaning, it may be time for a replacement.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These are ready to wear straight out of the box. Ensure the laces are tied to your preferred snugness for a secure fit.
Compatibility: The HOKA Mach 6 is designed as a road running shoe. It performs best on paved surfaces, tracks, and light gravel paths. It is compatible with most standard running socks.
Care:
- Cleaning: After runs, remove loose dirt with a soft brush. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid machine washing or harsh detergents, as this can damage the materials.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in a tumble dryer, which can degrade the foam and adhesives.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
