FAQs

Are Nike Air Max 90s true to size?

Yes, most users find that the Air Max 90 fits true to size. If you prefer a wider fit, some users opt for a half-size up.

Can I use these for running?

While they feature cushioning, the Air Max 90 is classified as a lifestyle/casual shoe and is not designed for distance running.

How do I keep the white parts white?

Regular maintenance is key. Clean off dirt immediately after wearing and consider a stain-repellent spray specifically designed for sneakers.

What is the purpose of the visible heel unit?

The visible Air unit provides pressurized air that compresses on impact and springs back, offering impact protection and long-lasting comfort.

Are the insoles removable?

The soft foam insoles are typically removable if you need to insert custom orthotics.

Troubleshooting

Creasing in the leather toe box

Creasing is a natural characteristic of leather footwear; using a shoe tree when not in use can help maintain the shape.

Visible dirt on the mesh panels

Use a specialized sneaker cleaning solution and a soft brush to gently lift debris from the fabric weave.

Air unit seems cloudy

This is often surface dust. Wipe the clear plastic window with a soft, microfiber cloth to restore clarity.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent heel comfort from the Air cushioning unit
Versatile, clean design matches most casual outfits
High-quality construction with durable leather overlays
Padded interior enhances overall fit and comfort

Cons

White materials are prone to visible dirt and stains
May require a short break-in period for the leather components
Not intended for high-intensity athletic training

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Air Max 90 sneakers remain in top condition, proper care is essential:

Fit: Ensure the laces are adjusted to your preference before the first wear to prevent heel slippage.
Cleaning: Given the leather and mesh construction, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt. For tougher marks on the midsole, use a damp cloth with mild soap.
Avoid Washing Machines: Do not submerge your trainers or place them in a washing machine, as this can degrade the adhesives and material integrity.
Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the white components from yellowing over time.
