Full details

This HOMCOM 55L automatic bin is designed for busy households seeking a more hygienic and convenient way to manage kitchen waste. Its key benefit is hands-free operation via an infrared sensor, minimizing contact with surfaces and reducing odor spread. A potential caveat is that it requires batteries for its automatic functions, though manual operation is possible when they deplete. Key features include a spacious 55L capacity, quiet soft-close lid, fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish, and a slim design suitable for various spaces.

FAQs

How do I activate the automatic sensor?

Simply wave your hand within approximately 15 cm of the sensor, usually located on the front of the lid.

What type of batteries does it use and how long do they last?

It uses four AA batteries, which can last up to six months depending on usage frequency.

What is the capacity of the bin?

The bin has a capacity of 55 liters.

Can I use the bin if the batteries run out?

Yes, the lid can be manually lifted when the batteries are depleted or if you prefer not to use the automatic function.

How do I clean the stainless steel exterior?

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Does it come with a liner?

No, trash liners are not included. The bin is designed to work with standard 55L liners or appropriately sized bags.

What is the warranty period for this bin?

The bin comes with a 12-month guarantee.

Troubleshooting

Lid does not open automatically

Check if the batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Ensure your hand is within the 15 cm sensing range and that the sensor is clean. If batteries are depleted, the lid can be opened manually.

Lid closes too quickly or too slowly

This is a fixed-time mechanism (closes after 5 seconds). If you require longer or shorter open times, manual operation is necessary. Ensure no objects are obstructing the lid's closing path.

Bin is unstable

Ensure the bin is placed on a flat, even surface. Check that the base is free from debris and that all components are properly seated.

Fingerprint marks are still visible

While the finish is fingerprint-resistant, heavy oils or residues may still mark. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly for best results.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Open the battery compartment, typically located at the base or under the lid mechanism.

  4. Ensure the bin is placed on a stable, level surface.

Compatibility:

  • Exterior: Wipe the fingerprint-resistant stainless steel surface with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn marks, use a mild detergent and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
