Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Attach the reel securely to your chosen carp or coarse fishing rod using the reel seat.
- Thread your main line through the rod's line guides and onto the reel spool. Ensure the line is spooled evenly.
- If using baitrunners or freespool, familiarize yourself with the adjustment knob for the rear drag.
Compatibility:
The Revolve 8000FS is designed to be compatible with most standard carp and coarse fishing rods that feature a suitable reel seat.
Care:
- Rinsing: After each use, especially in saltwater or muddy conditions, rinse the reel with fresh water. Do not use high-pressure water jets directly on the reel.
- Cleaning: Periodically, wipe down the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, consult manufacturer guidelines or a professional reel service.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of reel lubricant to moving parts (like the handle and bail arm pivot) as recommended by Avid, typically once or twice a season, to maintain smooth operation.
- Storage: Store the reel in a cool, dry place, preferably in a reel pouch, when not in use.
