Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the air purifier from its packaging. Ensure all protective materials and plastic coverings, especially those around the filters, are removed before first use.
- Filter Installation: Twist off the bottom cover, remove the protective plastic from the pre-installed filters, and then place them back into the unit, securing the cover.
- Power On: Place the purifier on a flat, stable surface, away from walls or obstructions, and plug it into a power outlet. Press the power button to turn it on.
- Connect to VeSync App (Optional but Recommended): Download the free VeSync app from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your air purifier. This enables smart controls, Pet Mode, and remote monitoring.
Compatibility
This smart air purifier is designed for seamless integration with popular smart home ecosystems:
- Voice Assistants: Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Once connected to the VeSync app, you can enable the Levoit skill/action in your voice assistant's app to control the purifier with voice commands (e.g., "Alexa, turn on the air purifier").
- VeSync App: The primary control hub for advanced features, scheduling, filter life monitoring, and real-time air quality data.
Care
Proper care ensures your air purifier performs optimally and prolongs its lifespan:
- Washable Pre-Filter: The outermost pre-filter is washable. It should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage and air quality) to remove large particles like pet hair and lint. Gently remove it, rinse under cool water, and allow it to air dry completely before re-installing.
- HEPA and Activated-Carbon Filter Replacement: The combined HEPA and Activated-Carbon filter unit is not washable and must be replaced. Levoit recommends replacing the filter every 8 to 12 months, depending on usage. The VeSync app can help you track filter life. To replace, twist off the bottom cover, remove the old filter, insert a new genuine Levoit replacement filter, and secure the cover. Reset the filter indicator on the unit after replacement.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth as needed. Do not use abrasive cleaners or wet cloths that could damage electrical components.
