Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Wear: When first trying on your SKX 2 Elite FG boots, wear your usual football socks. The FitKnit upper is designed for easier entry, but take your time to ensure your foot is seated correctly.
- Lacing: Utilize the reengineered lacing system to achieve a snug, adaptive fit. Experiment with different lacing tensions to find what feels most secure and comfortable for your foot shape. Ensure the laces are tight enough to prevent slippage but not so tight as to cause pressure points.
- Break-In: While designed for comfort, high-performance boots often benefit from a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions before a full match to allow the materials to conform to your foot.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This means natural grass fields that are dry to slightly damp. Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or very hard ground may lead to premature wear of the studs, reduced performance, and potentially discomfort or injury.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your SKX 2 Elite FG boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each session, use a soft brush or damp cloth to remove all dirt and debris from the upper, soleplate, and studs. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Do not force dry your boots with heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials. Instead, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry at room temperature.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a boot bag for protection during transport.
- Sockliner: Periodically remove the Hyper Burst Pro sockliner to air it out and clean underneath, helping to prevent odors and maintain hygiene.
