Product Information

Full details

Designed for dedicated carp anglers who demand efficiency and concealment, the Trakker Leadcore Leadclip Leader is perfect for those who want to spend more time fishing and less time tying rigs. These 75cm leaders offer exceptional abrasion resistance and ensure your terminal tackle sits flat against the lakebed to avoid spooking wary fish, though they do require careful handling to ensure the spliced connections remain secure over long-term use.

FAQs

How many leaders are in a pack?

Each pack contains three pre-tied 75cm leadcore leaders.

Can I use these with any lead?

These are designed for use with standard swivel leads that fit onto the included lead clip.

Are the swivels included?

Yes, each leader comes with a size 8 Quick Change Swivel already spliced in place.

What is the length of each leader?

Each leader measures 75cm, providing an ideal length for pinning the rig to the lakebed.

Can I replace the lead clip if it breaks?

Yes, you can slide off the tail rubber and lead clip to replace them, though you must ensure the new components are compatible with the leadcore diameter.

Is the leadcore material soft or stiff?

It is designed to be supple enough to contour to the lakebed while remaining durable against underwater obstacles.

Troubleshooting

Tail rubber is too tight to push on

Moisten the lead clip arm and the inside of the tail rubber with a little water or saliva to reduce friction.

Loop-to-loop connection keeps slipping

Ensure the loop of your main line passes through the leader loop completely and the swivel/lead has cleared the loop during the threading process.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Saves significant time on the bank due to being ready-tied
Extra heavy core promotes quick sinking and concealment
Excellent abrasion resistance for harsh environments
Safe lead clip system facilitates lead ejection
Compatible with standard size 8 hook link swivels

Cons

Requires careful inspection of splices after landing fish
More visible than fluorocarbon leaders in crystal clear water
Not suitable for venues where leadcore is explicitly banned

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup is straightforward: attach your main line to the spliced loop, slide your chosen swivel lead onto the Lead Clip, and attach your hook link to the QC Swivel. Secure the hook link with a small piece of rig tubing or a sleeve over the swivel. To ensure longevity, check the leader for fraying after every capture, particularly if you have been fishing over sharp stones or zebra mussels. Store the leaders away from direct sunlight and tangled items to prevent the splices from deforming. Always replace the leader if the leadcore shows signs of thinning or core exposure.
