Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Wear: When you first receive your boots, try them on with your preferred football socks. They should feel snug but comfortable, with no excessive pressure points.
- Break-in Period: It's advisable to wear the boots for a few short training sessions before a full match. This allows the `Performance FitKnit™` upper to mold to your foot shape and the soleplate to become more flexible.
- Lacing: Experiment with different lacing techniques to find the most secure and comfortable fit. The knitted collar is designed to provide a locked-in feel, so ensure laces are snug without being overly tight.
Compatibility
- Ground Type: These boots are strictly designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means natural grass pitches that are dry and relatively hard. They are not recommended for artificial grass (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the boots and increase the risk of injury.
- Sizing: Refer to the UK size 8.5 for this specific model. Ensure you have accurately measured your foot length and width for the best fit.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your Skechers SKX 01 Elite boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use: Immediately after playing, knock off any loose dirt or mud. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to wipe down the synthetic upper and soleplate. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives.
- Odor Control: Remove insoles to air out if needed. You can use shoe deodorizers or natural remedies like baking soda in socks placed inside the boots to absorb moisture and odors.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape.
- Refer to Label: Always refer to the specific care instructions on the product label for any additional guidance.
