Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Setup
- Sizing Check: Ensure the boots fit correctly. There should be a thumb's width of space between your child's longest toe and the end of the boot, and the heel should feel snug but not tight.
- Lacing: Teach your child to lace the boots securely, but not too tightly, to prevent rubbing and ensure proper ankle support. Double-knotting can prevent untying during activity.
- Socks: For optimal comfort and moisture management, pair these boots with moisture-wicking socks, such as those made from wool or synthetic blends. Avoid cotton socks, which can retain moisture and lead to blisters.
Compatibility
These boots are compatible with a range of outdoor activities including walking, hiking, playing in parks, and general daily wear in varying weather conditions. They are designed for children's feet (UK Infant size 12) and are unisex.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: After use, especially in muddy conditions, wipe the boots clean with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For tougher stains, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can damage the materials and waterproof membrane.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider stuffing them with newspaper to help absorb any internal moisture and maintain their shape.
- Waterproofing Maintenance: While featuring an ISOTEX membrane, periodically re-treating the synthetic leather upper with a suitable waterproof spray (designed for synthetic materials) can help maintain its water repellency and prolong the life of the boots.
