Troubleshooting

Laptop battery drains quickly or HP Fast Charge seems slow.

Ensure your laptop is powered down completely when using HP Fast Charge. Check for excessive background applications or processes that might be consuming power. Adjust power settings in Windows 11 to optimize battery life.

Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection issues.

Restart your Wi-Fi router and the laptop. Check that Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 drivers are up to date through Windows Update or HP Support Assistant. If you have a MU-MIMO router, ensure its firmware is updated for optimal performance.

Display appears dim or has reflections.

Adjust screen brightness using the keyboard function keys or Windows display settings. The anti-glare panel helps reduce reflections, but ensure you are not directly facing strong light sources. For flicker, ensure DC Dimming technology is active; this is typically an automatic hardware feature.

System feels slow or applications are lagging.

Check Task Manager for applications consuming high CPU or RAM. Ensure your 256 GB PCIe SSD has sufficient free space (aim for at least 15-20% free). Run Windows Update to ensure all system updates and drivers are installed. The 12th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and dual-channel memory are designed for performance, so often a software conflict or full storage is the cause.

USB Type-C port not recognizing external devices.

Ensure the external device is compatible with a 5Gbps USB Type-C port. Try reversing the plug, as it is reversible. Update USB drivers via Windows Update or HP Support Assistant. Test with a different USB Type-C device if possible.
