Troubleshooting
Laptop will not turn on or is unresponsive.
Ensure the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the laptop and a working power outlet. If the battery is completely drained, it might take a few minutes for the laptop to respond after plugging it in. Try a different power outlet. If issues persist, perform a hard reset by holding the power button for 15 seconds.
Slow performance or applications freezing.
Check Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) for programs consuming excessive CPU or RAM and close unnecessary applications. Ensure Windows 11 is up to date and run a disk cleanup. Low storage on the 256 GB SSD can also impact performance, consider freeing up space.
Wi-Fi connection issues or slow internet.
Restart your Wi-Fi router and the laptop. Check if other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network. Update your wireless network drivers through Device Manager or HP Support Assistant. Ensure your laptop is within range of your Wi-Fi 5 router.
Battery life is shorter than expected.
Adjust power settings in Windows 11 to 'Balanced' or 'Power Saver'. Reduce screen brightness, close background applications, and disconnect unused peripherals. Ensure the laptop's vents are clear to prevent overheating, which can reduce battery efficiency.
Webcam or microphone is not working during video calls.
Check privacy settings in Windows 11 (Settings > Privacy & security > Camera/Microphone) to ensure apps have permission to access them. Verify that the camera and microphone drivers are up to date via Device Manager or HP Support Assistant.
