This standard version of the Moab Speed 2 is designed for breathability. If you require full waterproof protection, look for the 'GTX' (Gore-Tex) variant.
While designed primarily for hiking, the streamlined, lightweight build makes them suitable for fast hiking and light trail running.
Use a soft brush to remove loose dirt and a damp cloth with mild soap for stubborn stains. Air dry away from direct sunlight.
They perform best on varied natural trails, packed dirt paths, and light rock scrambles.
Yes, the insoles are removable and can be replaced with custom orthotics or specialized hiking insoles if desired.
Try adjusting your lacing pattern; skipping the eyelets directly over the pressure point can alleviate discomfort.
Consider wearing trail gaiters to seal the gap between your ankle and the shoe collar.
Use a stiff-bristled brush to clear dirt from the lug grooves after every hike to maintain optimal grip.
For the best experience, ensure you wear moisture-wicking hiking socks to complement the shoe's internal climate control. To care for your Merrell Moab Speed 2, clean them after every muddy or dusty hike by wiping the exterior with a damp cloth; avoid using harsh detergents that can degrade the upper materials. Always air-dry your shoes at room temperature away from direct heat sources like radiators, as excessive heat can warp the adhesive bonds and damage the midsole cushioning. For sizing, ensure you have approximately a thumb-width of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe to account for foot swelling during long treks.
