FAQs

How do I clean the Merrell Nova 4 Waterproof shoes?

Use a damp cloth to wipe away dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or washing machines.

Are these shoes suitable for running on pavement?

While the Nova 4 can handle some pavement, they are primarily designed for trail running and walking. For optimal performance on pavement, consider shoes designed specifically for road use.

What kind of socks should I wear with these shoes?

It is recommended to use moisture-wicking socks to manage sweat and keep your feet dry. The thickness of the socks depends on personal preference and the climate.

How long will the Merrell Quantum GripTM outsole last?

The lifespan of the outsole depends on the frequency of use and the terrain. Regular trail use will result in faster wear and tear.

Can I replace the insoles?

Yes, the insoles are removable and can be replaced with aftermarket insoles for additional support or comfort.

Are the shoes vegan-friendly?

Yes, the Nova 4 is a vegan-friendly trainer.

What is FLEXconnect® technology?

FLEXconnect® technology features dual-directional flex-grooves in the midsole, enhancing ground connection and allowing the shoe to adapt to the terrain.

Troubleshooting

Shoes feel too tight.

Ensure you have the correct size. Consider a half-size up if you prefer more room. Ensure the laces are not over-tightened.

Water is entering the shoe.

Check for any damage to the waterproof membrane. Make sure the laces are tied correctly to prevent water entry.

The outsole is losing grip.

Clean the outsole regularly to remove mud and debris. If the grip is worn, consider replacing the shoes.

The shoes smell after use.

Use Cleansport NXT™ treated for natural odor control, or consider using odor-eliminating insoles.
