The Monstershop Solid Oak Porch Kit is designed for homeowners looking to add an elegant, durable, and functional entrance feature to their property. Constructed from FSC-certified solid oak with an innovative soft stone composite roof, it offers excellent weather protection and a timeless aesthetic suitable for both modern and period homes. While the kit simplifies installation with pre-drilled components and included fixings, users should note that the assembly of heavy timber requires basic construction skills and potentially a second pair of hands for safe mounting.

The kit is supplied in raw solid oak; it is highly recommended to apply a protective exterior treatment before or immediately after installation.
It is suitable for most standard masonry walls. If mounting to a non-masonry or timber-frame property, professional advice on mounting fixings is advised.
It provides the look and texture of real stone but is lighter, easier to install, and more flexible, which helps it resist cracking in varying temperatures.
The lights are standard 240V fixtures; they should be wired into your home’s existing outdoor lighting circuit by a qualified electrician.
The porch features a 1250mm internal span, which is designed to fit the vast majority of standard residential front doors.
Yes, the kit comes with necessary fixings, though you may need to source specific wall plugs depending on your wall material (e.g., brick vs. stone).
Ensure you are working on a perfectly flat surface and double-check that all components are oriented correctly as per the diagrams before tightening fixings.
Check all electrical connections at the junction box and ensure the IP44-rated light housing is correctly sealed to prevent moisture ingress.
Apply a fresh coat of high-quality exterior wood preservative or oil designed for oak to restore its protective barrier and natural color.
Before beginning installation, ensure the wall surface is structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight of the oak frame. The kit includes pre-drilled sections to assist with alignment; follow the provided manual to assemble the frame on the ground before mounting. For the best longevity, it is recommended to treat the solid oak with a suitable exterior wood oil or sealant annually to protect against UV rays and moisture. Regularly check all fixings to ensure they remain tight, especially during the first few months after installation. For the electrical components, ensure all wiring connections are performed by a qualified professional to maintain safety and compliance.
