FAQs
Are these shoes waterproof?
No, the Contend 10 is designed for breathability and is not waterproof.
Can I use these for long-distance running?
While durable for daily activity, these are entry-level trainers and are best suited for walking, gym use, or light jogging rather than competitive long-distance running.
How do I know if the size 10 will fit?
The ASICS Contend 10 is designed with a standard athletic fit; if you generally wear size 10 in other athletic brands, it should be consistent.
Can I replace the insole with orthotics?
Yes, the stock insole is removable, allowing you to insert your own custom orthotics if needed.
How often should I replace these trainers?
Generally, it is recommended to replace trainers every 300-500 miles of use, depending on the intensity and surfaces walked upon.
Troubleshooting
Feeling discomfort after the first few uses
Ensure you are using the correct size and try wearing thin, moisture-wicking socks to aid the initial break-in period.
Accumulation of dust or debris in the tread
Use a dry scrubbing brush to clear the outsole grooves to maintain consistent traction on smooth surfaces.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your ASICS Contend 10 trainers stay in peak condition, follow these guidelines:
- Fit Check: Ensure the laces are adjusted to your preference before your first walk to allow the shoe to mold to your foot shape.
- Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dried mud or debris. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild detergent; avoid soaking the shoes or using a washing machine as this can degrade the adhesive.
- Drying: Air dry the trainers in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Do not place them on radiators or in direct heat, as this can cause the materials to warp or shrink.
- Rotation: If worn daily, consider rotating them with another pair to allow the cushioning foam time to decompress overnight.
