No. Machine washing will remove the protective wax coating and damage the fabric.
It is designed as a utility layer. While the cotton provides wind resistance, you should pair it with insulated layers for true winter temperatures.
The jacket is cut slightly wider to accommodate layering. If you prefer a very slim, tailored look, you may want to consider this when selecting your size.
New waxed garments may have a slight scent from the wax treatment; this will dissipate naturally with regular wear and airing.
Avoid ironing, as the heat can melt and displace the wax finish permanently.
The wax coating naturally degrades with wear; re-apply a compatible textile wax treatment following manufacturer instructions.
Waxed cotton develops a natural patina. Light surface marks are normal, but can be minimized by gently warming the area with a hair dryer on a low setting.
This garment does not require complex setup; however, proper care is essential to maintain the integrity of the wax coating. To clean, wipe down the exterior with a cold, damp cloth; avoid machine washing or dry cleaning as these will strip the wax treatment. If the jacket loses its water repellency over time, you can re-apply a standard fabric wax treatment. Store the jacket on a sturdy hanger in a cool, dry place to prevent the cotton from creasing or the wax from migrating due to heat.
