The Lyle and Scott Waxed Hooded Utility Jacket is designed for men who prioritize a blend of rugged heritage and modern urban functionality. It features a weather-resistant waxed cotton finish and a versatile relaxed fit, making it ideal for layering during unpredictable seasonal transitions. While it provides excellent protection against the elements, potential owners should note that the waxed material requires specific cleaning procedures to maintain its protective coating over time.

It is water-resistant due to the waxed cotton finish, making it ideal for light rain and wind, but it is not intended for heavy, prolonged exposure to severe storms.
No. Machine washing will remove the wax treatment and ruin the fabric's protective properties.
Hang it in a cool, well-ventilated area. Avoid storing it while damp or in tight, compressed spaces, as this can affect the finish.
The jacket features a relaxed fit. If you prefer a tighter, more tailored appearance, you may want to consider this when selecting your size.
You can restore the water-repellent properties by applying a fresh layer of wax dressing specifically designed for waxed cotton garments.
Waxed cotton naturally softens with wear and body heat. Continued use will help the fabric break in and feel more supple.
Use a soft brush or a cold, damp cloth to spot clean. Never use soaps or solvents as they will strip the wax protection.
This jacket does not require a complex setup; simply ensure the size allows for your intended layering habits. Regarding compatibility, the understated black color pairs well with denim, chinos, or technical trousers. Because the jacket is made of waxed cotton, do not machine wash or dry clean. If the fabric becomes soiled, wipe it down gently with a cold, damp cloth. Avoid heat sources like radiators, as they can damage the wax coating. If the jacket loses its water repellency over time, you may need to apply a specialized re-waxing treatment compatible with cotton utility garments.
