Full details
The Fox Ranger Shorts are designed for adult male cyclists seeking versatile shorts that perform on the trail and are comfortable for casual wear. Their key benefit is the combination of trail-specific technology like stretch ripstop fabric and moisture-wicking waistbands with a relaxed fit for everyday style. A potential caveat is that the relaxed fit might not be preferred by riders seeking a more aerodynamic or race-oriented profile.

FAQs
Are these shorts suitable for downhill mountain biking?
While durable, the Ranger Shorts are designed with a relaxed fit for general trail riding and versatility. For extreme downhill riding, more specialized, robust gear might be preferred.
Can I wear padded cycling shorts underneath?
Yes, absolutely. The Ranger Shorts are designed to be worn over a padded liner or chamois for added comfort and performance on longer rides.
How do I clean the shorts to maintain their DWR finish?
Wash them in cold water with a mild detergent, avoiding bleach and fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Periodically, you can reapply a DWR treatment to restore water repellency.
What does 'TruMotion' refer to?
TruMotion is the proprietary stretch fabric used in these shorts, engineered to provide maximum freedom of movement and superior durability on the trail.
What is 'TruDri' technology?
TruDri is a technology integrated into the waistband lining that wicks moisture away from your skin, helping to keep you cooler and drier during activity.
How do I adjust the fit of the shorts?
The shorts feature side-cinch waist adjusters. You can easily tighten or loosen these straps on the fly to achieve your preferred fit.
Are these shorts waterproof?
The shorts have a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish, which helps shed light moisture, dirt, and debris. They are not fully waterproof but offer resistance to light rain and splashes.
Troubleshooting
Zipper is stiff or difficult to close
Check for fabric obstructions in the zipper teeth. Gently clean the zipper teeth with a small brush and apply a small amount of graphite (from a pencil lead) or a silicone-based lubricant.
Waistband is not staying secure
Ensure the side-cinch adjusters are tightened properly. If they continue to slip, check for wear and tear on the adjustment mechanism.
Shorts feel restrictive during intense pedaling
Confirm that the size is correct and that the side-cinch adjusters are not overly tightened, which could reduce flexibility. Ensure the shorts are in the correct riding position.
DWR finish is no longer effective
Wash the shorts according to care instructions and consider reapplying a DWR treatment spray or wash-in product designed for outdoor apparel.
