FAQs
Do these shorts come with a chamois pad?
No, the Fox Ranger Shorts do not include a chamois liner. They are designed to be worn over your preferred cycling underwear or bib shorts.
Are these shorts waterproof?
They feature a DWR finish which is water-resistant, meaning they shed light rain and mud, but they are not fully waterproof.
How should I clean the Ranger Shorts?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Hang dry or tumble dry on low to preserve the DWR finish.
Can I use these for sports other than mountain biking?
Yes, their durable ripstop construction and casual look make them suitable for hiking, trekking, or general outdoor use.
What is the fit like?
They feature a relaxed, comfortable fit designed for riding performance rather than a skin-tight aesthetic.
Troubleshooting
Shorts feel loose while riding
Tighten the adjustable side cinch straps until the waistband sits securely against your body.
Water is soaking into the fabric
The DWR coating may be wearing off; wash the shorts and apply a DWR spray treatment to restore water repellency.
Zipper feels stiff or stuck
Check for trail grit inside the zipper tracks and clean with a soft brush, or apply a light silicone lubricant if necessary.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To achieve the best fit, utilize the adjustable side cinch tabs located at the waist to dial in the tightness before you start your ride. The shorts are designed for a relaxed fit, so ensure they sit comfortably around your hips without sagging. For care, wash in cold water on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can degrade the DWR coating. To restore the water-repellent performance after heavy use, tumble dry on low heat or apply a DWR reactivation treatment according to the product manufacturer's instructions. Always empty the zippered pockets before washing to prevent damage to the zippers or the internal storage organizer.
