Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Hunter Original Short Wellington Boots is straightforward:
- Slip On: Simply slide your foot into the boot.
- Adjust Fit: Use the adjustable buckle strap on the side to tighten or loosen the boot around your calf until you achieve a comfortable and secure fit. This helps to prevent water from entering and ensures the boots stay snug.
Compatibility
These boots are highly versatile and compatible with various situations and attire:
- Weather: Ideal for rainy days, light snow, muddy conditions, and general wet weather. Not designed for extreme cold without additional thermal socks.
- Attire: Pair comfortably with jeans, leggings, trousers, and even casual skirts or dresses. The short height offers more flexibility than taller wellington boots.
- Activities: Perfect for urban commuting, dog walking, gardening, festivals, light hiking, and general outdoor activities where waterproof footwear is essential.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your Hunter boots:
- Cleaning: After use, especially in muddy conditions, wipe the boots clean with a damp cloth and mild soap (if necessary). Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not dry them near direct heat sources like radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can cause the rubber to crack or fade.
- Storage: Store the boots upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid folding or creasing the rubber, which can lead to permanent marks or damage.
- 'Blooming': If a white powdery film (known as 'bloom') appears, it's a natural release of waxes from the rubber. This can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth or a Hunter Boot Buffer spray for a like-new finish. Bloom is not a defect.
