Setup, Compatibility & Care
There's no complex setup for the Perrito Puffer Jacket; simply choose the desired side to wear. It is designed to be unisex and is available in kids and infant age groups, ensuring compatibility for a broad range of young wearers. Its simple design means it integrates easily with existing wardrobes.
Care Instructions
Proper care will help maintain the jacket's performance and longevity:
- Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors. It is recommended to close all zippers and fastenings before washing.
- Detergent: Use a mild powder detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, bleach, and harsh detergents as these can degrade the DWR finish and insulation.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting. Adding a few clean tennis balls to the dryer can help restore the loft of the synthetic insulation and prevent clumping. Ensure the jacket is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
- Ironing: Do not iron, as high heat can damage the synthetic fibers and DWR coating.
- Dry Cleaning: Do not dry clean.
- Storage: Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Avoid compressing it tightly for long periods to maintain insulation loft.
Maintaining Water Repellency
Over time, the DWR finish can wear off. If you notice water no longer beads up on the fabric surface, you can restore its repellency:
- After washing and drying, some DWR finishes can be reactivated by a short tumble dry on low heat.
- If reactivation is insufficient, consider applying a DWR spray-on or wash-in treatment designed for technical outerwear. Follow the product's instructions carefully.
