Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Loosen the traditional centre laces completely before putting the boots on. This allows your foot to slide in easily.
- Fit: Once your foot is in, tighten the laces evenly from toe to ankle. The fit should feel snug and 'glovelike' around your foot without being uncomfortably tight, especially around the heel and forefoot.
- Break-in Period: Leather boots often require a short break-in period. Wear them for light training sessions or shorter periods initially to allow the leather to mold to your foot's unique shape. This helps maximize comfort and prevent blisters.
Compatibility
- These boots are exclusively designed for soft and very soft natural ground surfaces. This includes wet, muddy, or damp grass pitches.
- Do NOT use these boots on firm ground, artificial grass (AG), or indoor courts, as this can damage the studs, outsole, and reduce their lifespan, while also posing a risk of injury due to inappropriate traction.
Care
Maintaining your adidas Kaiser 5 Cup boots will prolong their life and preserve their performance:
- Cleaning after Use: After every match or training session, wipe off mud and dirt using a damp cloth. For stubborn mud, a soft brush can be used carefully.
- Leather Care: As these are full-grain leather boots, regularly apply a high-quality leather conditioner or cream. This prevents the leather from drying out, cracking, and helps maintain its softness and water resistance. Follow the product instructions for application.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can cause the leather to stiffen and crack.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly check that the screw-in studs are tight before and after use. Replace any worn or damaged studs promptly to maintain optimal grip and safety.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using boot trees or stuffing them with newspaper to help retain their shape.
