Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Puma Ultra Ultimate boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure you lace your boots snugly but not overly tight. Experiment with lacing patterns to find the most comfortable and secure fit for your foot shape. A proper lacing technique prevents heel slippage and forefoot movement.
- Break-in: While modern boots often require less break-in, allow for a few shorter sessions to fully mold the boots to your feet before intense play. This helps prevent discomfort.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) and Artificial Grass (AG) pitches. The conical screw-in studs are optimized for these surfaces, providing optimal grip and reducing stud pressure. Using them on other surfaces like soft ground may result in suboptimal performance or increased wear.
- Age Group: Designed for adult players.
- Gender: Primarily marketed for male players, but can be worn by anyone fitting the size.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, clean off any dirt or debris using a soft brush or damp cloth. For stubborn mud, rinse gently under cool water. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives.
- Odor Control: Remove the NanoGrip sockliners after use to allow them and the boots to air out. You can use shoe deodorizers or natural remedies (e.g., baking soda in a sachet) to keep them fresh.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a boot bag to protect them during transport.
