Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Wallabee GTX requires no complex setup. Simply unbox, try them on for fit, and adjust the waxy laces to your comfort. We recommend wearing them for short periods initially to allow the premium suede and sole to conform to your foot.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed for adult wearers, compatible with a wide range of casual and smart-casual attire. They pair well with jeans, chinos, corduroys, and even certain tailored trousers for a relaxed yet refined look. They are intended for everyday wear and light outdoor activities, not extreme sports or heavy-duty work.
Care Instructions
Maintaining the appearance and performance of your Wallabee GTX is key to its longevity. The combination of suede and GORE-TEX requires specific care:
- Cleaning Suede: Use a soft suede brush to gently remove dirt and dust. For tougher marks, a specialized suede eraser can be effective. Brush in one direction to maintain the nap of the suede.
- Stain Removal: For wet stains, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. For dried stains, a suede cleaning solution can be applied sparingly, following the product's instructions.
- Waterproofing: While GORE-TEX provides inherent waterproofing, regularly applying a suede protector spray (ensuring it's safe for GORE-TEX materials) can further repel water and stains, keeping the suede looking fresh.
- Drying: If the shoes get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain their shape. Air dry them at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as these can damage the suede and GORE-TEX membrane.
- Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees to maintain their shape.
- Avoid: Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
