Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Lacing: Upon receiving your Wallabee GTX, ensure the waxy laces are threaded through all eyelets. Adjust the lacing to achieve a snug, comfortable fit across your instep, allowing for natural foot movement without slippage.
- Initial Wear: Wear the shoes for short periods initially to allow the suede to conform to your foot shape. The high-quality materials will soften over time, enhancing comfort.
Compatibility
The Clarks Originals Wallabee GTX in Black Suede offers exceptional versatility, making it compatible with a wide range of styles:
- Casual: Pairs perfectly with jeans, chinos, or corduroys for a relaxed, everyday look.
- Smart Casual: Can be dressed up with tailored trousers, knitwear, or a blazer for a refined, yet comfortable ensemble.
- Outerwear: Complements various jacket styles, from raincoats and parkas (benefitting from its GORE-TEX® properties) to bomber jackets and overcoats.
Product Care & Maintenance
Proper care is essential to maintain the appearance and performance of your Wallabee GTX.
- Brush Regularly: Use a dedicated suede brush to gently remove dirt and restore the nap of the suede. Brush in one direction.
- Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, use a suede eraser or a specialized suede cleaner. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Protection: Apply a high-quality suede protector spray before first wear and reapply periodically to guard against water and stains.
- Avoid Water: While GORE-TEX® makes them waterproof from the inside, excessive saturation of the suede exterior should still be avoided for aesthetic reasons. If wet, allow to air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- GORE-TEX® Maintenance: The GORE-TEX® membrane is designed to be durable. To maintain its breathability and waterproof performance, avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the interior. Regular cleaning of the exterior suede helps prevent dirt buildup that could impede breathability.
- Sole Care: Clean the Vibram® sole with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove mud and debris, ensuring continued optimal traction.
