The Barbour International Brantley Heavyweight Gilet is an essential layering piece for women seeking core warmth without sacrificing arm mobility during transitional weather. Designed with a synthetic fill for consistent insulation, this gilet features an adjustable waist and a stand collar, making it ideal for brisk country walks or running errands around town. While it provides excellent layering capabilities under heavier coats, the sleeveless design means it is not intended to provide full-body thermal protection during extreme winter conditions on its own.

No, it is designed for warmth rather than weather protection. It is best used as a mid-layer under a waterproof jacket in heavy rain.
Yes, the sleeveless construction and regular-fit body are designed specifically to be thin enough to layer under a coat without causing bunching.
The gilet includes an internal or hem-integrated drawcord that you can pull and secure to cinch the waist for a closer fit.
No, the Brantley Gilet uses a synthetic fill, making it a cruelty-free alternative to down insulation.
Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with a detergent suitable for technical garments to preserve the synthetic fill.
No, this model features a stand collar for neck warmth but does not include a hood.
Ensure no inner lining fabric is caught in the teeth and clear any debris or lint from the zipper track.
Synthetic fill can compress over time; try tumble drying on a low, cool setting with dryer balls to restore the loft.
To ensure your gilet remains in peak condition, always check the garment label for specific washing instructions, typically recommending a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Because it uses synthetic insulation, avoid high-heat tumble drying, which can damage the loft of the fill. For compatibility, this gilet is designed to sit comfortably at the hip; consider wearing it over mid-weight base layers or sweaters for the best fit. If you are layering it under another coat, ensure the outer jacket has enough room to accommodate the gilet's thickness without restricting your chest movement.
