Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The New Balance FuelCell Rebel v5 features a traditional lace-up closure for a customizable and secure fit.
- Lacing: Loosen the laces completely before putting on the shoe.
- Foot Insertion: Slide your foot into the shoe, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated in the heel cup.
- Tightening: Begin tightening the laces from the toes upwards, ensuring a snug but not overly tight fit across the midfoot.
- Knot: Tie a secure knot, double-knotting if preferred for extra security during dynamic movements.
Ensure there's a thumb's width space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
Compatibility
These shoes are primarily designed for:
- Running Type: Speedwork, tempo runs, interval training, uptempo long runs, and race day efforts.
- Surface: Best suited for roads, tracks, and well-maintained paved paths.
- Runner Profile: Ideal for neutral runners looking for a lightweight, responsive, and fast shoe for performance-oriented runs.
Care
Proper care helps maintain performance and extends the life of your Rebel v5.
- Cleaning: After runs, especially in wet or muddy conditions, gently wipe down the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage materials.
- Insoles: The removable insoles can be taken out and air-dried separately to prevent odor and promote ventilation.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Washing Machine: Avoid machine washing as it can damage the shoe's structure and materials.
