While based on an archival runner design, these are categorized as lifestyle trainers and are best for casual daily wear rather than performance running.
The New Balance 740 is designed to fit standard adult sizing. It is recommended to choose the size you typically wear in other lifestyle trainers.
While they can handle light moisture, the mesh upper is breathable and will not keep your feet dry in heavy rain or deep puddles.
Yes, this model is designed as a unisex trainer suitable for all adults.
Use a damp, soft cloth to wipe down the angular overlays. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents that could strip the color.
Use a double knot or replace with slightly textured laces to improve friction.
Gently dab with a mixture of water and mild soap, then air dry completely.
As these trainers come ready to wear, setup is limited to adjusting the laces for your preferred tension. They are designed to fit true to size for most adult feet. To maintain your shoes, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the mesh and overlays. For deeper cleaning, spot clean with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid machine washing or tumble drying, as these processes can damage the structural overlays and midsole foam. Air dry them in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources like radiators.
