Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
The installation of your new toilet seat is designed to be quick and easy. All required fixtures and fittings are included in the box.
- Remove Old Seat: Unscrew and remove your existing toilet seat. Clean the toilet pan thoroughly where the old seat was attached.
- Position Fittings: Place the provided fittings into the mounting holes on your toilet pan.
- Attach Seat: Align the mounting brackets on the underside of your new Harbour Housewares toilet seat with the installed fittings.
- Secure Seat: Tighten the nuts from underneath the toilet pan until the seat is firmly in place. Do not overtighten, as this could damage the fittings.
- Test Soft Close: Gently lift the seat and lid, then let them go to ensure the soft-close function operates smoothly.
Compatibility
This toilet seat is designed to fit most standard toilet pans. While specific dimensions are not provided, the easy installation mechanism usually allows for some adjustability. If you have a non-standard toilet, it is recommended to measure the distance between the mounting holes and the front edge of your toilet pan to ensure a proper fit. Info needed: Provide specific dimensions of the seat to confirm compatibility.
Care & Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and pristine appearance of your wooden toilet seat, follow these care instructions:
- Regular Cleaning: Wipe the seat regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap (e.g., dish soap). Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach, acidic cleaners, or strong disinfectants directly on the wooden surface, as they can strip the protective coating and cause discoloration.
- Dry Thoroughly: After cleaning, always wipe the seat dry with a clean, soft cloth to prevent water marks or moisture damage, particularly around the hinges.
- Check Fittings: Periodically check that the mounting nuts are still tight to prevent the seat from wobbling. Retighten by hand if necessary.
