FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?

Yes, the Vomero 18 is designed with energy-returning foam that provides ample support for running and active movement.

Can I remove the insoles to use custom orthotics?

The insoles are generally removable, making it possible to insert custom orthotics if needed.

Are the materials waterproof?

No, the shoes feature engineered mesh for breathability, meaning they are water-resistant but not fully waterproof.

What is the best way to clean the mesh upper?

Use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub away dried dirt, then wipe clean with a cloth dipped in mild soapy water.

Do these trainers fit true to size?

Nike trainers typically fit true to size, but we recommend measuring the foot in centimeters to match the sizing chart for the most accurate fit.

Troubleshooting

Laces coming untied frequently

Double-knot the laces or replace them with elastic no-tie laces for younger children.

Odour buildup after heavy use

Remove the insoles to air out and use an odor-neutralizing spray specifically designed for sports footwear.

Reduced traction on wet surfaces

Ensure the outsole pods are free of debris or lodged gravel, which can limit contact with the ground.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High energy return from ReactX foam
Excellent breathability for long-term wear
Durable outsole provides reliable traction
Comfort-focused interior prevents rubbing
Visible safety elements for outdoor use

Cons

Lace-up closure may be difficult for small children
Light-colored mesh uppers may show dirt quickly
Specific fit requires accurate sizing for growing feet

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Nike Vomero 18 trainers, follow these maintenance tips:

Fitting: Ensure there is a thumb-width of space between the longest toe and the front of the shoe to allow for natural foot growth.
Cleaning: Remove surface dirt with a soft brush. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap. Avoid machine washing or drying, as this can degrade the foam and adhesive.
Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the materials.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to prevent the upper material from fading or losing shape.
