Full details

The Steve Madden Possession trainers are designed for fashion-forward adults seeking a bold, contemporary aesthetic without sacrificing everyday wearability. These chunky trainers offer a distinctive platform silhouette that elevates casual outfits while providing comfort through a padded collar and breathable materials; however, users should be aware that the 7 cm platform sole provides a significant height increase which may require adjustment if you are accustomed to flatter footwear.

FAQs

How high is the platform sole?

The platform sole on the Possession trainer measures 7 cm.

Are these shoes suitable for athletic activities?

While they feature an athletic aesthetic and breathable construction, they are primarily designed for casual lifestyle wear rather than high-intensity sports.

How should I clean the suede panels?

Use a soft, dry brush specifically designed for suede to gently remove surface debris. Avoid water or liquid cleaners on the suede sections.

Can I replace the insoles?

The trainers are designed with a fixed internal structure, but you may be able to add thin orthotic inserts if necessary.

Do these trainers run true to size?

The Possession trainers generally align with standard adult sizing; however, the lacing system allows for a degree of adjustment to suit your individual fit preference.

Troubleshooting

Laces feel loose or slip during wear

Ensure the laces are threaded through all eyelets and use a double knot if necessary to maintain tension.

Suede appears dull or dirty

Use a specialized suede brush to lift the nap of the material, which helps restore the original texture and remove embedded dust.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Striking modern design that pairs well with casual and athleisure styles
Enhanced ankle support via the padded collar design
Reliable traction provided by the chevron-patterned outsole
Breathable material construction helps maintain foot comfort

Cons

The 7 cm platform height may feel unstable to those unaccustomed to tall shoes
Suede material requires specific care to prevent staining
Chunky design is heavier than standard low-profile trainers

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Steve Madden Possession trainers remain in peak condition, follow these guidelines:

Sizing: These trainers are designed for an adult fit. Since they feature a traditional lace-up system, you can tighten or loosen them to match your preferred level of lockdown.
Cleaning: Given the suede and mesh composition, avoid submerging the shoes in water. Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove surface dirt from the suede. For mesh areas, a lightly dampened cloth with mild soap is generally sufficient.
Protection: Consider applying a suede-safe water and stain repellent spray before the first use to protect the material from the elements.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the vibrant colours from fading over time.
