Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparation is Key:
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, or contaminants. Use a degreaser and wipe down thoroughly.
- Mask off any areas you do not wish to coat.
- Work in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
Application:
- Shake the can vigorously for at least one minute before and during use.
- Apply in thin, even coats from approximately 6-10 inches away.
- Allow each coat to dry for at least 30 minutes before applying the next.
- Apply 4-6 coats for optimal durability and ease of removal. More coats are recommended for high-wear areas.
Compatibility:
Plasti Dip adheres to most surfaces including metal, plastic, wood, glass, concrete, and fabric. Test on an inconspicuous area first, especially on plastics or painted surfaces, to ensure compatibility.
Care:
- Clean with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the coating.
- For removal, carefully peel the rubber coating away from the surface. If residue remains, it can often be removed by rubbing it with a fresh piece of Plasti Dip or using a citrus-based cleaner.
