While the variants are listed primarily in male UK sizing, the Sk8-Hi silhouette is traditionally considered a unisex style.
Yes, the Sk8-Hi design is a standard for skateboarding, featuring the necessary rubber waffle sole for grip and reinforced high-top construction.
Use a mild detergent mixed with water and a soft-bristled brush, scrubbing lightly to avoid bleeding the colors.
Vans Sk8-Hi models generally fit true to size, though the high-top fit can feel more snug if you wear thicker socks.
Applying a sneaker-safe water and stain repellent can help protect the aesthetic, but check the product label to ensure it won't discolor the red fabric.
Consider using a double knot or replacing them with higher-friction athletic laces if you are performing intensive skating.
Use a specialized sneaker cleaning solution and a soft cloth to gently wipe the affected area rather than machine washing.
Clean the bottom of the soles with warm soapy water to remove accumulated dust and debris that can compromise traction.
To ensure your Vans Sk8-Hi trainers last, proper care is essential. When lacing, do not overtighten the laces, as this can compress the foam in the tongue and collar, reducing comfort over time. For cleaning, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the upper materials. If the shoes become wet, air dry them naturally away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can warp the rubber and degrade adhesives. Keep the shoes away from harsh chemicals or bleach to preserve the signature red and black dye job.
