Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the full lace-up front is snug but not overly tight. Start lacing from the toes upwards, pulling each section firm. This distributes pressure evenly across your foot and prevents movement that can cause blisters. Double-knot for security on the trail.
- Socks: For optimal comfort and moisture management, wear appropriate walking socks made of synthetic materials or merino wool, which wick moisture away from your skin. Avoid cotton socks as they retain moisture.
Compatibility
These walking shoes are designed for versatility. They pair well with standard outdoor clothing such as hiking trousers, shorts, and waterproof jackets. Their low-cut design makes them suitable for a wide range of activities from casual walks to more strenuous day hikes on established trails.
Care
- Cleaning: After use, remove loose dirt with a soft brush or damp cloth. For the suede leather sections, use a dedicated suede cleaner and brush if necessary. Avoid harsh detergents. For textile areas, a mild soap and water solution can be used. Always allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage materials.
- Waterproofing: To maintain the integrity of the Weathertite waterproof technology and the water-repellency of the suede, periodically re-treat the shoes with a suitable waterproofing spray or conditioner specifically designed for suede and textile outdoor footwear. This is particularly important after thorough cleaning or heavy use.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Stuffing with newspaper can help absorb any residual moisture and maintain shape.
