While originally designed as running shoes, the modern 991v2 is optimized for lifestyle and daily comfort rather than high-performance distance training.
Use a specialized suede brush or a suede eraser to gently remove stains. Avoid using excess water or standard household cleaning agents.
New Balance 991v2 trainers generally fit true to size. If you have a wider foot, you may prefer to try a half-size up to account for the structured leather panels.
Yes, the insoles are removable, allowing you to insert custom orthotics if required.
Use a sneaker-specific cleaning solution and a soft brush, focusing only on the mesh area to avoid getting chemicals on the leather.
The materials are not waterproof. We recommend applying a high-quality leather and fabric protector spray to help repel light moisture.
This is a natural occurrence with premium leather; use a shoe tree when not wearing the trainers to help maintain shape.
Use a damp, soft cloth with a tiny amount of mild detergent; gently dab rather than scrub to avoid damaging the fibers.
Ensure a double knot or consider replacing the laces with a slightly more textured alternative if they are too smooth.
To ensure the longevity of your 991v2 trainers, proper care is essential. Since the upper uses a mix of leather and mesh, it is recommended to use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry debris after use. For deeper cleaning, use a specialized leather and textile cleaner; avoid fully submerging the shoes in water, as this can degrade the leather quality and glue integrity. When not in use, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading. To maintain the shape, consider using shoe trees or stuffing the toe box with acid-free paper.
