FAQs

What type of material is this fixing suitable for?

These fixings are designed for solid substrates including brick, block, stone, masonry, and concrete.

What is the maximum thickness of the material I can fix?

The maximum fixture thickness that these fixings can accommodate is 50mm.

What driver bit do I need to install these fixings?

You will need a PZ3 driver bit for installation.

Can I use these fixings outdoors?

No, these fixings have a Corrosion Rating of 1, meaning they are optimized for clean, dry, and low-humidity environments and are not suitable for outdoor or damp conditions.

How many fixings are in a bag?

Each bag contains 30 TIMco Nylon Frame Fixings.

What is the purpose of the anti-rotation lugs?

The anti-rotation lugs are designed to prevent the fixing from turning while it is being installed, ensuring a more secure and stable attachment.

What are the dimensions of the plug and screw?

The plug size is 10.0 x 100mm, and the screw size is 5.5 x 105mm.

Troubleshooting

Fixing spins during installation

Ensure the pre-drilled hole is the correct size (10mm) and the plug is fully seated. Check that the anti-rotation lugs are making contact with the substrate surface.

Screw does not tighten securely

Verify the hole diameter and depth are correct for the plug. If the substrate is very soft, a different type of fixing might be required. Ensure the screw is correctly aligned with the plug.

Fixing shows signs of rust or corrosion

This product is rated for dry environments (Corrosion Rating 1). Move the application to a cleaner, drier location or select fixings with a higher corrosion resistance rating if used in damp conditions.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Prevents turning during installation for a more secure fit.
Suitable for a variety of common solid building materials.
Simplifies installation with PZ3 driver compatibility.
Accommodates reasonably thick fixtures.
Comes in a convenient pack of 30.

Cons

Corrosion Rating of 1 limits use to dry, indoor environments.
Not suitable for use in damp or exterior conditions.
May not be the ideal choice for very heavy-duty or structural applications requiring higher load ratings.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Drill a hole suitable for the 10mm plug diameter into your chosen solid substrate (brick, block, stone, masonry, concrete).
Ensure the hole depth is sufficient for the 100mm plug.
Insert the TIMco Nylon Frame Fixing plug into the drilled hole.
Position your fixture (e.g., wooden frame) over the plug.
Using a PZ3 driver bit, drive the 5.5 x 105mm screw through the fixture and into the plug until snug and secure. Do not overtighten.

Compatibility:

Substrates: Brick, block, stone, masonry, concrete.
Driver Bit: PZ3.
Maximum Fixture Thickness: 50mm.

Care:

These fixings have a Corrosion Rating of 1, indicating they are intended for use in clean, dry, and low-humidity environments. Store unused fixings in their original packaging in a dry location. Do not expose them to moisture or corrosive substances, as this will degrade their performance and appearance.
