Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your HOKA Bondi 9 is simple:
- Lacing: Use the traditional lace fastening system to achieve a snug, comfortable, and customized fit. Adjust tightness to your preference.
- Break-in: While designed for comfort right out of the box, a few short runs or walks can help the shoes fully adapt to your unique foot shape and gait.
Compatibility
- Best Use: Ideal for Road running.
- Gender: Specifically designed with a women's fit and last.
- Terrain: Optimized for paved surfaces, sidewalks, and smooth urban paths.
- Gait: Recommended for runners with a neutral stride.
- Running Style: Best for those seeking maximum cushioning and comfort for daily training, long runs, and recovery.
Care
To maintain the performance, appearance, and longevity of your Bondi 9 shoes:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the textile and synthetic upper with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners. Do *not* machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or other artificial heat sources, which can cause materials to shrink or warp.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Maintenance: Regularly check the outsole for embedded debris (small stones, dirt) and carefully remove them to maintain optimal grip. Consider rotating your running shoes if you run frequently to extend the life of each pair. Replace shoes when the cushioning feels 'flat,' the outsole shows significant wear, or you notice new aches or pains during runs.
