FAQs

What type of playing surfaces are these boots suitable for?

These boots feature an FG/MG (Firm Ground/Multi Ground) soleplate, making them ideal for both natural grass pitches and artificial grass surfaces.

What does HybridFeel upper mean?

HybridFeel is adidas' tactile and flexible synthetic upper material, designed to provide lightweight comfort, support, and enhanced ball feel, mimicking aspects of natural leather.

Are these boots for adults or kids?

These specific adidas Predator League Tongue boots are designed and sized for kids.

How do the Strikescale elements improve play?

Strikescale elements are strategically placed grip textures on the upper that provide increased purchase on the ball, enhancing precision, swerve, and overall control when striking or passing.

Can I machine wash these football boots?

No, it is not recommended to machine wash these boots as it can damage the materials and adhesives. Always clean them by hand with a damp cloth and mild soap.

What is the purpose of the foldover tongue?

The foldover tongue helps to provide a more integrated and secure fit, while also creating a clean, unobstructed striking surface on the top of the foot for improved ball contact and control.

Are these boots made with recycled materials?

Yes, these boots are made in part with recycled materials, contributing to a more sustainable product.

Troubleshooting

Boots feel too tight or cause rubbing.

Ensure you have the correct size. Try wearing thicker football socks to see if it improves comfort. Allow for a 'break-in' period, as synthetic materials can soften slightly with wear. If discomfort persists, consider if the 'regular fit' is suitable for your foot type.

Lack of grip on the playing surface.

Verify that you are using the boots on suitable surfaces (firm ground or artificial grass). Clean the soleplate thoroughly to remove any lodged debris or mud that could be reducing stud effectiveness. If the pitch is excessively wet or extremely soft, you might need different stud configurations not applicable to this FG/MG boot.

Upper material appears creased or losing shape.

After each use, stuff the boots with newspaper to help them retain their shape while drying. Avoid leaving them crumpled or in direct sunlight. Consistent cleaning and proper drying will also contribute to maintaining material integrity.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptional Ball Control: Strikescale elements and touch grooves significantly enhance grip, precision, and swerve for striking.
Versatile Traction: The FG/MG soleplate offers reliable grip and stability on a wide range of natural and artificial grass pitches.
Comfortable Fit: The HybridFeel upper and foldover tongue contribute to a secure and comfortable feel during play.
Lightweight Design: Promotes agility and speed on the field.
Sustainable Choice: Incorporates recycled materials, making it an environmentally friendlier option.

Cons

Synthetic Material Preference: Players accustomed to natural leather boots might notice a difference in touch and feel.
"Regular Fit" Limitation: While designed for general comfort, this fit might not be ideal for all unique foot shapes (e.g., very wide or narrow feet).
Kids' Specific Sizing: These boots are designed for children, so adult players will need to seek other options.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

Lacing: Loosen the laces completely before putting the boots on. Ensure the foldover tongue is positioned correctly over the laces for a clean striking surface.
Fit Adjustment: Once on, tighten the laces evenly from toe to ankle. The lace closure allows for a secure and personalized fit. Ensure the boot feels snug but not uncomfortably tight.

Compatibility

Fit: They feature a regular fit, designed to accommodate a wide range of foot shapes comfortably.
Age Group: Specifically sized and designed for kids.

Care Instructions

To maximize the lifespan and performance of your adidas Predator League Tongue boots, follow these care steps:

After Each Use: Remove any excess mud and dirt from the upper and soleplate using a soft brush or damp cloth.
Cleaning: Wipe the synthetic HybridFeel upper with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. For the soleplate, use a brush to clean between the studs. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
Drying: Stuff the boots with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat sources (like radiators or tumble dryers). Machine washing or tumble drying can damage the materials and adhesives.
Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures for prolonged periods.
