FAQs

Can I leave the awning open during a rainstorm?

While the fabric is PU coated and water-resistant, it is intended to provide shade. We recommend retracting it during heavy or sustained rain to avoid structural damage.

Does this awning require a professional for installation?

Installation involves mounting to exterior walls which may be complex. If you are not confident in your structural framing skills, hiring a professional is recommended.

How do I operate the awning if the remote is lost?

The product is designed for remote operation. Contact manufacturer support to inquire about replacement remotes if necessary.

What is the best way to clean the fabric?

Use a soft brush to remove loose dirt and a mixture of mild soap and lukewarm water for spot cleaning. Allow it to air dry completely.

Is the aluminium frame rust-proof?

The frame is made from corrosion-resistant materials, making it suitable for long-term outdoor exposure in typical weather conditions.

Troubleshooting

Awning fails to extend or retract

Check the power supply connection and ensure the remote control batteries are fresh.

Fabric appears uneven when extended

Check for obstructions in the frame mechanism and ensure the awning was fully retracted and cleaned of debris.

Motor makes unusual noise

Inspect the pivot points of the folding arms for debris; lubricating moving parts with a silicone-based spray may help.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High-quality weather-resistant materials
  • Convenient remote-controlled operation
  • Stylish yellow aesthetic adds a modern pop of color
  • Semi-cassette housing keeps fabric clean
  • Reduces heat gain on patios and decks

Cons

  • Requires significant installation effort
  • Weight of the unit necessitates sturdy wall mounting
  • Not intended for extreme high-wind conditions

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation requires a flat, sturdy mounting surface such as a brick wall or reinforced timber framing. Due to the torque and weight involved in the retractable mechanism, it is strongly recommended that two or more people handle the lifting during mounting. For electrical compatibility, ensure the motor is connected to a weather-rated outdoor power outlet. Regular care is straightforward: remove loose debris from the fabric periodically with a soft brush, and clean the fabric with mild soap and water once a year. If the fabric becomes wet, retract the awning only after it has dried to prevent mold growth inside the cassette.
