FAQs

Is the mesh safe for fish?

Yes, the net uses an ultra-soft, fish-friendly material designed to prevent damage to the fish's scales and slime coat.

Can I replace the net mesh if it gets damaged?

Yes, the mesh is detachable from the carbon arms, allowing for replacement should it encounter sharp objects or snagging hazards.

How long is the pole when packed down?

Being a two-piece configuration, the pole breaks down into approximately two equal lengths, fitting most standard carp gear bags.

Is the spreader block metal or plastic?

It is constructed from high-quality, durable ABS, which provides high impact resistance while remaining lightweight.

Does this net come with a carry bag?

The Wychwood Riot Tactical Landing Net is supplied as a net system; please check your specific retailer package for included storage accessories.

Troubleshooting

Spreader block feels loose

Check that the arms are fully seated in the block and the thread connecting the pole to the block is tightened securely.

Difficulty collapsing the arms

Check for debris or grit inside the spreader block apertures and rinse thoroughly with water.

Mesh smells after storage

Soak the net in a mild, fish-safe disinfectant solution and hang it in an airy, shaded spot to dry completely.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Assembly: Insert the tapered carbon arms into the spreader block slots, then attach the pole to the block.
Breakdown: Carefully pull the arms out of the spreader block to collapse the frame for storage.
Compatibility: The universal thread on the spreader block is compatible with most standard landing net poles and banksticks.
Cleaning: Always rinse the mesh with clean, fresh water after use to remove weed, silt, and fish slime.
Storage: Ensure the mesh is completely dry before packing away in a storage bag to prevent mildew. Store the carbon sections in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
