The Saucony Endorphin Speed 5 is designed for adult male runners seeking speed and responsiveness during intense training or competitions. Its key benefit is providing effortless speed and a stable, forward-moving momentum thanks to its PWRRUN PB cushioning and newly designed nylon plate. A potential caveat is that its performance focus might make it less ideal for very long, ultra-endurance runs where maximum plushness is prioritized over responsiveness.

The main benefit is its ability to provide effortless speed and a responsive, forward-moving ride, making it ideal for fast training and racing.
Yes, it is suitable for marathon running, especially for those who prioritize speed and responsiveness. However, for runners who prefer maximum plush cushioning over long distances, other models might be considered.
The nylon plate offers a blend of torsional rigidity and forefoot flexibility, providing a stable yet forgiving ride. Carbon plates are typically stiffer and offer more aggressive propulsion, often suited for elite racers.
It's best for neutral runners who engage in speed training, tempo runs, and races, and who appreciate a lively, responsive feel with good energy return.
Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior. For interior cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution. Always air dry away from direct heat.
The shoe weighs approximately 8.4oz (238g).
The heel-to-toe drop is 8mm (36mm in the heel and 28mm in the forefoot).
Adjust the lacing system. For tightness, loosen the laces, especially around the midfoot. For looseness, ensure a snug fit by tightening the laces more evenly. Consider different lacing techniques if persistent.
Ensure the shoe's cushioning (PWRRUN PB) has not been compromised by extreme conditions or excessive wear. While the foam is durable, it can degrade over many miles. Check for any visible damage to the midsole.
Verify that the outsole is clean and free from excessive mud or debris. Ensure the shoes are tied securely. For specific surfaces, consider if the shoe's grip is appropriate; this model is best on asphalt.
The winged nylon plate provides rigidity. Ensure your foot is properly positioned within the shoe and that the fit is correct. If discomfort persists, it may indicate a need for a shoe with a different plate design or a more flexible forefoot.
Setup: The Endorphin Speed 5 comes ready to run right out of the box. No specific setup is required. Ensure the laces are tied appropriately for a secure, comfortable fit before each run.
Compatibility: This is a neutral running shoe, compatible with most running gaits. It is designed for use on asphalt and other hard surfaces.
