The New Balance 740 Trainers are designed for active kids who need a reliable, stylish shoe for everyday wear. Inspired by iconic 2000s-era running aesthetics, these shoes provide a perfect balance of heritage style and modern, comfortable cushioning to support all-day activity. While they feature a breathable open mesh construction, the polyester material is best suited for dry conditions rather than heavy rain.

While the 740 is inspired by running shoes and features modern cushioning for daily activity, it is primarily designed as a lifestyle trainer for casual use.
No, the open mesh upper is designed for breathability and will likely absorb water if worn in heavy rain.
We recommend measuring your child's foot with a standard ruler or foot gauge to ensure proper room for growth; the 740 series runs true to standard UK youth sizing.
We do not recommend machine washing, as it can damage the materials and the adhesive used in the midsole. Hand cleaning is best.
Yes, the combination of polyester and high-quality overlays is designed to withstand the wear and tear of typical children's play.
Ensure laces are fully loosened before inserting the foot, as the structured overlays provide a snug fit.
Allow the mud to dry completely and gently brush it away with a soft-bristled brush before wiping with a damp cloth.
These trainers require no special setup; simply ensure the correct UK size is selected to allow for natural foot growth. To maintain the appearance and longevity of the trainers, avoid machine washing or drying. Instead, clean the exterior by gently wiping the mesh and overlays with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry the shoes in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can warp the cushioning material or damage the adhesive.
