FAQs

Are these shoes machine washable?

It is generally recommended to hand-wash them using a damp cloth. Machine washing can damage the glue and canvas structure.

Do these provide arch support?

They feature a standard flat footbed typical of the classic Chuck Taylor design.

How do I choose the right size?

Consult a standard UK children's footwear size guide and measure the child's foot with socks on for the most accurate fit.

Are these suitable for sports like football?

These are casual trainers intended for everyday lifestyle wear, not for specialized sports performance.

Can I use waterproof spray on these?

Yes, applying a fabric-safe waterproofing spray can help protect the canvas from moisture and staining.

Troubleshooting

Laces coming untied frequently

Ensure a double knot is tied or consider replacing them with elastic laces if the child struggles with tying.

Scuff marks on the rubber toe cap

Use a white eraser or a damp sponge with mild soap to gently buff away black scuffs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Durable construction suitable for daily use
Classic style that remains fashionable
Reliable lace-up system for a secure fit
Lightweight and flexible for all-day comfort

Cons

Canvas fabric can show dirt easily
Lace-up design requires time to put on and take off
Not waterproof for rainy weather conditions

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the best fit, check the UK sizing carefully as kids grow quickly. The lace-up closure should be adjusted to be snug but not restrictive. To clean your trainers, use a damp cloth with mild soap for surface marks. For the rubber soles, a soft-bristled brush can help remove dirt. Allow them to air dry naturally in a cool, shaded area; avoid direct heat sources like radiators to prevent the canvas and rubber adhesives from drying out or cracking.
